In the musical “My Fair Lady,” upper-class ladies in Victorian England attended the races at Ascot sporting extravagant headgear. According to Sarah Belle Proprietress Kathy L. Harvey, the era evoked by fine millinery, parasols and open-finger gloves is very much alive for her customers.
Harvey said that she was reminded of her mother for whom she named her boutique. Her mother, who was from Savannah, loved hats and lived during a period when Southern woman worshiped hats.
